Right off the bat, this school's website is so hard to navigate I do not remember it being this complicated when I went here. Stone Lakes Elementary was my elementary school for K-5th grade I remember mostly being sent home newsletters so it's interesting to see a lot of information on here. There are eight tabs on the main page being: Home, Academics, Clubs, Faculty & Staff, Media Center, Parents, School Information, and Students. I am able to look at things from lunch schedules and prices to the school's attendance policy. But it is extremely hard to navigate so I imagine it's a lot easier with a school login.  School Website    I obviously expect a huge use of technology in my career although I am not sure what I want to do yet if I am working in a school I expect to use a lot of different platforms. I personally want to use plenty of communication tools in order to keep in touch with students and parents. In regards to communication with other teachers, I would ...

My use of Diigo so far has been limited but with what I have done I feel that it is useful for some things but other software seems to be more beneficial to me. Diigo is useful as a communication tool and information among groups of people while different software could do a lot more. This could just be because of my limited use of the technology though. It definitely does not seem as advanced as some other educational tools and websites I have used in the past so it has made it hard to navigate for me. I guess my best comparison would be trying to use Facebook as an avid Instagram user, I find that app extremely confusing.     So far I have enjoyed the experience with blog posts. I have never done something like this before other than discussion posts but this feels a lot different because I have all of my posts in one area and can look back on them which I have been. Sometimes I find it hard to get my writing going even if it is on a specific topic I need time ...

My early experiences using Twitter were definitely interesting. I first created my account to make a One Direction fan account specifically a Harry Styles fan account. I only really used my Twitter for Direction posts and news. This then eventually turned into me using Twitter for only news and occasionally posts of other famous people I no longer have a One Direction fan account. I find this extremely beneficial because it is a fast way to get breaking news and it is constantly updating. Twitter could be helpful in my future career to keep up with whatever possible company I end up working for.      As students progress more and more in school especially as technology continues to improve and become even more used in education it will be crucial students have some understanding of technology. The digital divide refers to students who do not have access to technology compared to the students who do. Sucess in schools is more and more becoming dependent on te...

I chose the ELA technology standards for the kindergarten grade level. The standards listed are described as helping them explore more than one type of digital tool to create and post writing. The types of technology listed were the smartboard, story jumper, and the program paint. I feel almost fully prepared to implement these standards based on my skill set. I specifically chose the Kindergarten age group standards because I remembered how little technology I had when in that grade but seeing it now it is impressive what is being taught so soon. But yes, I do feel ready to implement these standards because I have a strong base of knowledge on what would be asked of me.     I found the resources CPALMS educator tool kit to be extremely useful and I could see how they really could come in handy in the classroom. The resource I chose is called, "Once Upon a Retelling" and it does through the story of The Three Little Pigs in an interactive video where the st...
