In EME2040 I have been in a fully online course which I do tend to like since I have more freedom when it comes to school work schedules. For this course, it has been a little bit difficult when I have specific questions and have to search around to find the answer, but I always am able to manage. I think if I was in person it may make it a little bit easier to learn how to use all the tools with face-to-face explanations but either way I've still been able to do it. When I am a teacher something I may be able to do to improve the classroom experience is offer in-depth explanations in person and online and have flexible office hours.

An open education resource is any learning material that is open to being used by anyone and it can be presented in a multitude of ways. These resources could be online, on paper, really anything that can be distributed. I found a website called UNESCO which explains what an open educational resource is and why it is beneficial. This website also offers OER recommendations of their own along with a page called OER in action which explains the wider importance of open educational resources.

I definitely feel like I learned so much while working on assignment #4, I had no idea that's how you could add your voice to a PowerPoint because most of the time I see my professors using the video version. I feel like I learned a lot about PowerPoint and discovered the suggested design tool which I found very cool. But if I do become a teacher I feel like learning about these tools was very important and probably long overdue. I really liked creating an artistic-looking presentation I did not really like having to record multiple times because I kept messing up but I mostly enjoyed everything else.

  1. Hi Bri! Great post! I definitely agree that it would be helpful at times to have more in-depth explanations about how to do an assignment or use a certain tool. With it being an asynchronous class, you sometimes have to try to figure out things on your own because directions are not explicitly clear and confusing at times. I think it is great that you would offer opportunities to give in-depth explanations for your students!
